Our philosophy is simple, we only use what we can grow or rear ourselves or what we can source from within 25-miles. That does not limit us though! With a Kitchen Garden as big as the one we have at THE PIG-near Bath, we can be spoilt for choice in the summer, and our 10-meter long polytunnels give us a helping hand in the winter.  

THE PIG-near Bath team would not be complete without a few four-legged or feathered friends! Home – rearing our own chickens and pigs for eggs and pork means we can be sure of their quality and provenance, ensuring they lead happy lives.

    The availability shown online for THE PIG-near Bath is live and always up-to-date. If you can’t find the date you’re after, please email reservations@thepighotel.com so we can add you to our waiting list.

    However, it’s worth checking out our other properties as we may have rooms or tables available elsewhere.

    Bringing Dogs

    THE PIG welcomes well-behaved dogs to stay in a small number of rooms across most of our hotels, excluding THE PIG-in the wall and THE PIG-on the beach*. We kindly ask owners to help us respect the sensitivities of all our guests and staff by asking you to follow our Dog House Rules to avoid ending up in the doghouse! To book a dog friendly room please email us at reservations@thepighotel.com or give us a call 0345 225 9494.

    We do not permit dogs inside the restaurants, although they are welcome to join you on a stroll around the grounds or for outdoor dining when our terraces are open. Please note at THE PIG-in the wall we only permit guide dogs into the property.

    Children and Family

    Children are more than welcome at THE PIG-near Bath, both in the restaurant and to stay. At THE PIG-near Bath, some of our rooms are suitable for an extra bed or cot, just ask us when booking and we can arrange this for you upon your arrival. We also have some interconnecting rooms which are suitable for families. Please email reservations@thepighotel.com to find out about the availability of these rooms.

    Dress Code

    We’ll never tell you what to wear. Our restaurant at THE PIG-near Bath is informal and relaxed, so come in whatever makes you happy and comfortable.

    Food Service Times

    Breakfast: 7.30am-10am Monday-Friday and 7.30am-10.30am on Saturday and Sunday.

    Lunch: 12pm-3pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm-4pm on Sunday.

    Dinner: 6pm-9:45pm Monday to Sunday.

    Afternoon: We don't serve a traditional afternoon tea, however we do offer an afternoon menu of homemade piggy treats and sweet treats. Our Afternoon menu is served from 3pm-5pm in our lounge areas and on our outside terrace.

    Wood Ovens: The Wood Oven is currently closed for the winter months but will be re-opening in Spring 2025. 

    Lunch bookings at THE PIG-near Bath are advised, however, Dinner bookings are essential! Please note we do not take bookings for the Wood Oven or Afternoon Menu.

    Private Parties

    A real get-away location perfectly situated between Bath and Bristol, THE PIG-near Bath is a great place for a get together! We have a mix of rooms to choose from depending on who is it you're getting together.

    The largest of our dining rooms, The Old Dining Room, seats up to 20 of your nearest and dearest around a rustic dining table, our garden inspired spot, The Kitchen Garden Table seats between 8-12 people and our characterful and cosy Billiard Room, seats up to 12-16 and is perfect for long leisurely suppers or meetings.     We offer monetary vouchers, as well as lunch, dinner and treatment vouchers. These can be purchased here.

    Joining us for breakfast?

    Breakfast at THE PIG-near Bath is available to everyone! Head to the restaurant where you can choose to dig into our PIG breakfast grazing table or pick something hot from our breakfast menu. 

    Unless we are running a special deal, our bedroom rates do not include breakfast (so you always have the choice to come down and enjoy it, or sleep in and skip it!)

    If you're not staying with us the night before, please make sure you book your table in advance. We can't wait to welcome you round to ours in the morning!

    Checking in and out

    You can check in from 3pm at THE PIG-near Bath, however, you’re more than welcome to arrive earlier to drop off your luggage and explore the gardens.

    Check out is by 11am. We ask that you leave your room by this time, but please enjoy the surroundings all day. We can’t guarantee an early check-in or late check-out, but stick around and let us know your plans and we will try our best on the day. 

    Accessibility

    At THE PIG-near Bath we have a small lip access to the hotel, through either front door or through the private dining space.     All rates shown on our website, quoted over the phone, or provided through other means are subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse any booking for valid reasons. Our hotels offer various room types, with rates based on the number of occupants per room. Prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling, and all online payments will be processed in Pounds Sterling.

    During peak seasons, bank holidays, and special events, certain rates may not be available, and some dates may require a minimum length of stay. Rates are subject to change without notice.

    Our packages and pricing vary based on availability and demand. They include only the services and amenities specified in writing. Your price is guaranteed once you receive a confirmation number.

    Electric Vehicle Charging

    We currently have two 7KW Pod Point electrical charging points for vehicles at THE PIG-near Bath if you require charging during your visit. You will need to use the POD Point App to access the charger, and will be charged 75p per kWh of charge; overnight charging is required for full charge. Charging will require use of the Pod Point app and a registered account - this can be found at https://pod-point.com/products/driver/app. These POD charging points are fully compatible with all electric cars but please note you must bring your own charging lead. Once your car is fully charged we ask you move it to a regular parking space.

    Allergens

    Restaurant: Please speak to our Restaurant Team at THE PIG-near Bath if you have any questions about the menu, allergies or dietary requirements when you arrive.

    Wood Oven: Please advise your server of any allergies or dietary restrictions. We cannot make gluten-free flatbreads as the oven will be used for the regular flatbreads so there is guaranteed cross-contamination. 

    Cancellation

    If you wish to have the option to cancel your room free of charge (up to 72 hours before arrival), we recommend booking one of our "Free Range" rates. Please email reservations@thepighotel.com if you need to amend your stay.

    A late cancellation (within 72 hours of arrival or outside the defined cancellation policy of the rate booked) or a no-show (failing to arrive on the scheduled date) will result in a charge of one night's accommodation at the first night's rate of your booking. This charge will be applied to the credit or debit card provided during booking.

By road

Although not necessary, a vehicle can be handy to explore the rolling Mendip Hills and Somerset countryside! THE PIG-near Bath is a short drive from the A36 and the M4, very close to the A37 being on the A368; so driving from London should take just over two hours.

Nearest station

Bath Spa Train Station is only a 20-minute drive from ours and the city of Bath is fairly well connected with links to various destinations across the country. First Great Western runs hourly services between Bath and London Paddington and the journey only takes around an hour and a half.

Taxi service

Veezu in Bristol and Bath (01179 25 26 26) and Keynsham Cars more local to us (0117 986 8444) are taxi services that are always on hand to get you where you need to be! Give them a call if you're needing a lift to our house.
